ESG Issues in Investing: What, Why, and Why Not : ESG 100 - Online course by CFA Institute

A clear and simple introduction to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues in Sustainable, Responsible, and Impact Investing (SRI), ESG-100 is an introductory resource designed to help learners gain an understanding of the fundamentals of ESG issues in SRI. The course contains a series of 100 questions designed to challenge learners and provides explanations to cement understanding. While not required, some prior investment education (e.g., BSC finance) and/or work experience (e.g., junior analyst) can be helpful to best understand the concepts presented.  

We Strongly urge you to take this online course to gauge the issues in the respective companies you are analyzing and excel in the research challenge.

The course contains 12 progressive sections based on the following topics:

  • Types of ESG issues
  • Why ESG issues are important in SRI and how they can be overlooked in traditional investing styles
